HISTORY From 1991 until 2000

In the Nineties AMPANS continued employing more staff and workers. The former Bages Workshops, relocated in Comabella years ago, were converted into the Occupational Workshop and the building known as La Masia, was inaugurated to place the administrative offices of the institution.

In 1992 the 25th anniversary of the institution was celebrated at Comabella through a meeting with remarkable entities and important personalities at national and district level. A modest but moving act convinced people to continue supporting the entity and make AMPANS assume a leader role in services for mentally disabled persons.

New employment services were created: the news-paper stand at the Manresa General Hospital, the Gardening Centre Floriplant at Santpedor, creation of more places at Home-Residences in both cities (Manresa and Sant Joan de Vilatorrada). AMPANS made a special effort in these years to increase the number of places for residential care services by creating a new Residence and Daytime Centre in 1993, called Julio Payàs, to attend persons with severe mental and physical handicaps requiring specialized cares 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
