Within the framework of comprehensive cares, AMPANS not only offers services and centres for the persons with mental disabilities, the institution also cares for the families trying to give them some respite in their daily cares through the following services:

Mutual Support Groups

It’s about little parent groups giving support to families with mentally disabled persons taking into account the personal and emotional aspects (psychological support) of the situation. These groups make it possible to share similar care experiences (with their children) and help reduce social isolation as well as create a strong membership and solidarity feeling.

The Club

The actual needs of the families created a new service to improve work-life balance for the parents of mentally disabled children. The service named the Club offers after school care in the morning and in the evening.

Respite Care

The AMPANS respite services are created to provide parents and caregivers relief and to enhance their quality of life. The service consists in two modalities:

• On the one hand, our mentally disabled relative can reside temporary at the AMPANS residences or homes.
• On the other hand, a number of host families are willing to take care of our relatives for some time.

This service means respite for the families usually taking care of their mentally disabled relatives, and above all a human and solidarity experience for the host families.
